Description:

As the full moon rises over a Japanese garden, a gate opens to another world. Snow falls on the outward scene but, inside the gate, the snow gives way to cherry blossom petals on the path. Snow has not quite yet hidden the footprints on the stones from some traveler crossing between worlds. The winter world is in shades of blue, turquoise and indigo. This visionary piece, part of the Shaman's Gate series (mystical landscapes of alternate realities), is an original acrylic painting on a gallery-wrapped stretched canvas (the 3/4" sides are finished off in indigo acrylic)--no need to frame. It has been lightly varnished to protect the paint and preserve the lustrous colors. If you would like the canvas fitted with picture wire, let me know at the time of purchase (no additional charge). The piece can be hung as is on one or two parallel nails but some people prefer hanging wire if the piece is going to be hung unframed.
