Description:

In the moon window of a teahouse, a black and white cat sleeps contentedly as the sun rises. Steam is rising from the blue tetsubin (Japanese cast iron teapot). If you look closely, you can just make out koi swimming on the teapot. Two yunomi (teacups) in sand and sea colors have been laid out, which match the tea caddy on the window sill. Behind the stone path is the garden where a blossoming magnolia tree greets the new day. A branch has been brought in and rests in a burgundy bowl to complete the tea. This tranquil landscape is an original acrylic painting on a gallery-wrapped stretched canvas (the 3/4" sides are finished off in black acrylic)--no need to frame. It has been lightly varnished to protect the paint and preserve the lustrous colors. If you would like the canvas fitted with picture wire, let me know at the time of purchase (no additional charge). The piece can be hung as is on one or two parallel nails but some people prefer hanging wire if the piece is going to be hung unframed.
